I went for an interview with the P of a brand new school in the north. It was Yuan Hua who suggested the school to me. After doing some research about the school and the P, I decided to give it a shot. After the interview, I think the environment would be more suitable for me as compared to where I was from. I love my ex-colleagues. However, there is a little voice within me that often asking if I am really suited for the environment there. Furthermore, I am sure that things would have changed with a new P taking the reign.

Apparently, many teachers from other schools also have requested to join the new school. It seems that only IAK (=International Auntie Killer) and myself are “fresh from school” (not exactly fresh). Now I just have to hope and pray that I will be posted to the school and I will be happy in that school.

Last night, I learn a new piece during gu zheng lesson. It was and is tough. I can't help it, I really felt dumb. Every time I learn a new piece, I find it extremely hard at the beginning because I am very poor at side-reading. In general, I think I can remember certain things pretty fast. It serves me well most of the time (like exam preparation) but for learning a new gu zheng piece, I wonder if my tendency to just remember impedes my ability to side-read. In fact, I am never taught explicitly how to side-read. The instructor seems to expect that you just pick it up along the way. Sometimes, I do feel lost in class. For the price I am paying, I just have to settle for it. Nonetheless, I do enjoy the learning process. Gu zheng is something that I really appreciate and I will not give up so easily.

Finally, I set up a blog dedicated to my kids. So happy. Hope they will like it
